Slavic Seasons at Bogenšperk Castle

Forum of Slavic Cultures and partners kicked off the Slavic Seasons cycle at Bogenšperk Castle with the first in the series of events. Young grammar school students from Celje and Litija listened to the motivational address by Dmitry Polikanov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, and talked to Slovenian author Vlado Žabot and Yulia Sozina, literary historian from Russia.

Writer Marko Sosič Passed Away

Writer, theatre and film director Marko Sosič passed away aged barely 62. Marko Sosič was born in 1958 in Trieste. He graduated in theatre directing at the Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Zagreb. He has directed in various Slovenian and Italian theatres as well as for television. He was Artistic director of the Slovene National Theatre in Nova Gorica and Slovene Permanent Theatre in Trieste.

FSC Back at the Fair in the Air

The Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature Office organised the second edition of Fair in the Air at Ljubljana’s Zvezda Park. The FSC participated once again with the translations of books published within the One Hundred Slavic Novels series and the monograph At the Table with the Slavs.

Fair in the Air

The FSC took the 100 Slavic Novels collection and the monograph At the Table with the Slavs to the Fair in the Air, a book fair that took place in four Slovenian cities and was organised by Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature Office and partners during Slovenian Book Days.
