This Year’s Slavic Garden Marked by the Sound of Poetry

For the second time in a row, the FSK was a partner of the Slavic Garden programme at the Pula Book Fair. At the poetry evening entitled My Goal is – Horizon, which took place outdoors, visitors were able to listen to the poetry of five poets from the Slavic world in the dramatization and interpretation of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb.

Drago Jančar and Robert Perišić at the Festival of Slavic Cultures

The Centre of Slavic Cultures Moscow has traditionally organized the Festival of Slavic Cultures on the occasion of the Day of Slavic Literacy. This year it took place in hybrid form, partly live and partly remotely. The festival also included a round table dedicated to new Russian editions in the Hundred Slavic Novels collection.

Writer Marko Sosič Passed Away

Writer, theatre and film director Marko Sosič passed away aged barely 62. Marko Sosič was born in 1958 in Trieste. He graduated in theatre directing at the Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Zagreb. He has directed in various Slovenian and Italian theatres as well as for television. He was Artistic director of the Slovene National Theatre in Nova Gorica and Slovene Permanent Theatre in Trieste.

Fair in the Air

The FSC took the 100 Slavic Novels collection and the monograph At the Table with the Slavs to the Fair in the Air, a book fair that took place in four Slovenian cities and was organised by Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature Office and partners during Slovenian Book Days.
