Slavic Literatures in Focus of a New Festival
The Forum of Slavic Cultures, in cooperation with partners, organised the Festival of Slavic Literatures. The first edition of the Festival, which will become a regular literary event on the cultural calendar in the years to come, was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the 100 Slavic Novels collection. The anniversary was held under the honourable patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.
Gallery of Matica Srpska celebrated 175 years of operation and conferred its jubilee awards. One of them went to the FSK.
Friends and collaborators of the Gallery of Matica Srpska marked its impressive jubilee at the ceremonial session during which the Gallery conferred special awards to acknowledge their fruitful cooperation.
Women Writers Route Receives Certificate of the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe in Chania, Crete
Three newly certified cultural routes were awarded certificates at the opening of the 11th Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe Annual Advisory Forum, held in Chania, Crete, Greece.
The 14th International Summer School of Museology
The 14th edition of the International Summer School of Museology took place between 5 and 9 September 2022 at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Primorska. The programme was a collaboration of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, UNESCO Chair and the Department of Archaeology and Heritage of the FH UP, ICOM Slovenia, in partnership with Regional Museum Koper and cultural centre Delavski Dom Trbovlje.
Woodcarving Museum (BaH), recipient of ŽIVA Award 2020, winner of Micheletti Award
Esch-sur-Alzette, the European Capital of Culture, hosted this year’s European Museum Academy conference and award meeting between 8 and 10 September. One of this year’s award winners was also the Woodcarving Museum from Konjic (BaH), recipient of ŽIVA 2020 award. The Emigration Museum in Gdynja (Poland), recipient of ŽIVA 2018, received special commendation of the DASA award.
FSK and WWR in Esch-sur-Alzette, European Capital of Culture 2022
Between 8 and10 September 2022 the Luxembourgish city of Esch-sur-Alzette, this year’s European Capital of Culture, hosted the European Museum Academy’s conference and awards meeting, at which Andreja Rihter presented the international foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures and the Women Writers Route (WWR), which was certified this year by the Council of Europe’s Institute of Cultural Routes.
Summer School on Intimacy in Women’s Writing also in Villa Zlatica
The summer school “Intimacy in Women’s Reading and Writing”, organised by the CEEPUS network “Women Writers in History” and the Women Writers Route (WWR) in cooperation with the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica, brought together participants from seven European countries.
FSK and ICOM SEE in Prague – a step on the common path
At the 26th ICOM General Conference, the Forum of Slavic Cultures and the International Council of Museums of South-Eastern Europe organised two round tables. The focus was on common roots and their importance in ensuring peace, and on the threat to heritage in states of emergencys such as war. The meeting was attended by 50 experts.
Translators of Slovenian literature in the Garden of Villa Zlatica Again
For the second time in a row, the Forum of Slavic Cultures hosted the opening event of the traditional International Translation Seminar of Slovenian Literature in the garden of Villa Zlatica. This year’s discussion evening was entitled Language Nomads: Foreign Translators in Slovenia.
Record number of nominees for the ŽIVA 2022 Award
A record number of 33 museums from nine Slavic countries have applied for the ŽIVA Award 2022 for the Best Museum and the Best Heritage Site in the Slavic Countries. All applications have been shorttlisted by a special jury.
