“The First Lady of Serbian Literature” at the Exhibtion in Novi Sad

An exhibition about the life and work of the Serbian writer and the first woman academician in Serbian literature – Isidora Sekulić, entitled “The First Lady of Serbian Literature”, was organized by the Novi Sad City Library as part of the international project Women Writers Route, a newly certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe initiated by the FSK.

Slavic Literatures in Focus of a New Festival

The Forum of Slavic Cultures, in cooperation with partners, organised the Festival of Slavic Literatures. The first edition of the Festival, which will become a regular literary event on the cultural calendar in the years to come, was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the 100 Slavic Novels collection. The anniversary was held under the honourable patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.

Main Živa Awards 2020 to Woodcarving Museum and to Etar Regional Ethnographic Open-Air Museum

The International foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) bestowed the awards for the best Slavic museums in Belgrade in Serbia in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Serbia and Serbian partner institutions. In addition to the main award, the winner was Woodcarving Museum from Konjic (Bosnia and Herzegovina), the award for the best heritage site in Slavic countries was bestowed for the third time. It went to the Etar Regional Ethnographic Open-Air Museum from Gabrovo in Bulgaria.

At the Table with the Slavs received Gourmand’s Best of the Best award

Every year, Gourmand confers international awards for the best cookbooks on food and drink culture and upon its 25th anniversary they conferred the Best of the Best 25 awards. One of the recipients was also Janez Bogataj with his book At the Table with the Slavs. The book was published in Slovenian and English languages by the Forum of Slavic Cultures.
