The Board of the Forum of Slavic Cultures Fosters Intercultural Dialogue
Composed of the ministers of culture of FSC member countries the Board of the International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures met at the ceremonial session. One of the items on their agenda was the future of the FSC and the Board signed a memorandum on the strengthening of the intercultural dialogue and participation of all Slavic countries. The event took place under the auspices of Marjan Šarec, Prime Minister of the RS, while Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, sent a letter of congratulations to the FSC on its 15th anniversary.
The FSC Board was led by its chairman, Mr Vladan Vukosavljević, Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia. In his address he said: “At the time of globalisation and strong influence of the West, organisations such as the FSC are growing in importance. Europe and the world should recognise the uniqueness in our diversity. Culture is our strongest asset and only if we join forces can we show the Slavic heritage and its makers to the world.”
In the year marking its 15th anniversary the FSC received a congratulation letter also from Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. In it he wrote: “In a decade and a half, the FSC more than justified its existence. It provides excellent networking opportunities in the wider public in Slavic countries and plays a vital role in preserving the unique cultural and spiritual heritage of the Slavic world.”
At the end of the ceremonial session the representatives of FSC member countries signed a memorandum on the strengthening of intercultural dialogue and participation of all Slavic countries. All of them are aware that cooperation fosters better understanding of culture and history of Slavic cultures, mutual awareness, respect, understanding and friendship in Europe and beyond.
