This year, the Forum of Slavic Cultures attended Intermuseum, the international museum festival in Moscow, for the first time as a strategic partner. The Živa booth (Živa is the award for the best Slavic museum) presented fifteen Slavic museums, of which three were Slovene.

At the official opening of the 20th Intermuseum festival showcasing as many as 400, predominantly Russian museums, visitors were addressed by Olga Golodets, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Medinsky, Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Director of the Hermitage Museum and President of the Union of Museums in Russia, and this year also by Andreja Rihter, Director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures.
