Members of the Women Writers Route Association from seven countries met at the general meeting. They approved the Association’s bodies, took note of its previous activities and fundamental documents, and adopted the work programme for the next three-year period. Their first task is to prepare and submit the application for the certification Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
Almost twenty members, representatives of cultural and science institutions and local communities from seven countries met at the general meeting of the Women Writers Route Association. They confirmed the members of the Association’s consultative bodies, the scientific and programme council. The first is led by Dr. Katja Mihurko Poniž, professor at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Nova Gorica, and the latter by Tihana Turković, Director of Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales from Ogulin, Croatia. The members confirmed the new president of the Association, Dr. Andreja Rihter, and elected the honorary president, Dalibor Domitrović, Mayor of Ogulin, the city that has supported and participated in the Women Writers Route project since the very beginning. The current Board members are the president and a representative of the City of Ljubljana, Saša Ogrizek, who will soon be joined by representatives from Serbia and Russia.
Members of WWR – the Women Writers Route Association also took note of previous activities and fundamental documents, and adopted the three-year work programme. The latter includes activities aimed at the general public, various events, guided tours and visits for tourists, and scientific meetings. Special attention will be paid to the young – children, high school and university students. The members also agreed on the first task to be tackled by the Association this summer for its three-year-long project, which is to submit the application for the Cultural Route of the Council of Europe certification at the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
