Piranova in Bitola

From 28 to 30 November 2023, the Piranova International Colloquium »Museums – That Matter: Permanent Museum Exhibitions and Work with Visitors« took place in Bitola, North Macedonia. The event was organised in collaboration with the NI Institute and Museum Bitola.   

During the international colloquium, Dr Andreja Rihter, director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, and Massimo Negri, technical director of the European Museum Academy, presented the working practices of museums that have been awarded european museum prizes. In addition to the theoretical lecture, they also held a workshop, which was attended by 20 participants. At the end of the workshop, the participants, who came from museums in Bitola, Štip, Skopje, Gevgelija, Prilep, Negotin, Ohrid and Tetovo, were able to put their newly acquired knowledge to the test during a visit to the permanent exhibition of the Museum Bitola.

The colloquium was also visited by the Minister of Culture and Media of North Macedonia, Dr Bisera Kostadinovska – Stojčevska. This type of training, aimed at transferring good practices in the region and beyond, is one of the activities that the ministry supports and will continue to organize.
