From Medieval Serbian Knights to Contemporary Designs
Within the Transformations project the Slavic fashion designers looked for inspiration in their cultural heritage.
The Luchaneo collection was inspired by the phenomenon of medieval Serbian knights, who after all the centuries since their demise continue to enrich the Serbian national identity with their historical and mythic potency. Serbian fashion designer Nevena Ivanović juxtaposed the knights’ armours and modern-day “armours”, uniforms of those believed to be the patrons and protectors of the nation, and established a dialogue between them.
