Blagoje Stefanovski, former Minister of Culture of North Macedonia and Honorary Ambassador of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, bid his last goodbye at the age of 67.
Stefanovski was one of the most important figures in Macedonian culture and had an important role within the FSK as well. In 2002 he was the first to respond to the proposal of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia for the inception of the FSK and was one of nine ministers of culture who signed the joint statement on the establishment of the international foundation.
Blagoje Stefanovski had a fruitful career. He served as director of the National Theatre of Bitola (1975 – 1980), member of parliament and president of the committee on culture of the Macedonian parliament (1994 – 1998), and between 2002 and 2006 also as the Minister of Culture. After his term of office as minister of culture he founded the Small Drama Theatre Bitola. In his long career he received numerous awards and commendations, including the 4th November lifetime achievement award of the City of Bitola.
