Slavic Women Writers in the academic volume Defiant Trajectories

The volume Defiant Trajectories: Mapping out Slavic Women Writers Route brings six academic papers on women writers from Montenegro, Croatia, Poland, Russia, Serbia and Slovenia. The publishers of the papers from the conference dedicated to women writers are the association Women Writers Route and Forum of Slavic Cultures.

The Women Writers Route in Ogulin, Croatia

The delegation of the Forum of Slavic Cultures paid a working visit to Ogulin, Croatia, where they met with the mayor of Ogulin and the director of Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales. Ivana’s House of Fairy Tales is the national coordinator of the Women Writers Route in Croatia.

FSK relocation in full swing

International foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures is moving to new premises in the renovated Villa Zlatica, the home of Ljubljana’s former mayor Ivan Hribar. The first periodic exhibition on show in the exhibition premises will be Ivan Hribar and the Slavic World. Villa Zlatica is expected to open its doors for visitors in May.

Exhibition Challenges at the Piranova Colloquium

In the framework of Piranova – International Heritage Research Centre programme Forum of Slavic Cultures organised International Colloquium Piranova #4 titled Exhibition Challenges. The event featured lectures and presentation of the book Developing exhibitions as well as two workshops.

Živa Award Judges Back on the Road

With epidemiological situation in most Slavic countries improving and control measures relaxing the judges for the Živa Award are ready to visit the nominated museums in person. Should that not be possible for all of the museums the visit and evaluation will take place remotely. The 7th Živa Award ceremony for the Best Slavic Museum and Heritage Site will take place in September 2021.

Writer Marko Sosič Passed Away

Writer, theatre and film director Marko Sosič passed away aged barely 62. Marko Sosič was born in 1958 in Trieste. He graduated in theatre directing at the Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Zagreb. He has directed in various Slovenian and Italian theatres as well as for television. He was Artistic director of the Slovene National Theatre in Nova Gorica and Slovene Permanent Theatre in Trieste.

WWR Officially Established

The Women Writers Route Association, which will apply for the certificate of the European cultural route, has been formally established and registered in accordance with regulations. The project partners are actively involved in the design and implementation of activities, including Biljana Dojčinović from Serbia, a member of the WWR Scientific Council.
