The play In Agony is back at Villa Zlatica!
At the end of October, the Villa Zlatica continues to host the kammerspiel In Agony. The unique theatre project stages the second play of the Glembay trilogy, written in 1922 by one of Croatia’s greatest 20th-century authors Miroslav Krleža (1893–1981). The play took stage in the bourgeois Villa Zlatica in Ljubljana’s Rožna Dolina district, once the home of Ljubljana’s revered mayor Ivan Hribar (1851–1941), which offers visitors a glimpse at the life of a Slovenian bourgeois family at the beginning of the 20th century. The villa is managed by the International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures, which is also the co-producer of the play (with Društvo Dveh). ALL REPETITIONS ARE SOLD OUT!

Ivan Hribar and Slavic World, Villa Zlatica

The temporary exhibition will tell the story of Hribar’s idea of Slavism in the 19th century and juxtaposes it to the mission of the FSK, which this international foundation pursues in the 21st century. As they walk the paths that Hribar took as he was discovering the differences and similarities between Slavic nations, visitors will be able to observe the development of cultural cooperation between Slavic speaking countries.

Prešeren Day in Villa Zlatica

Once again in Villa Zlatica was lively. On the occasion of the Slovenian Cultural Day, we opened the doors of the villa free of charge and introduced visitors to Hribar’s former home, reminding them in particular of the Mayor’s poetic exploits and his admiration for Prešeren.
