Srđan Valjarević (Belgrade, 1967), a prose writer and poet, is the author of the novels List na kori hleba (1990), Ljudi za stolom (1994), Dnevnik druge zime (2005) and Como (2006); the prose notes Zimski dnevnik (1995); the three-book collection Fric and Dobrila (2021), Brod koji je zaplovio kroz maglu (2023) and Narator je konačno progovorio (2024); as well as the poetry collection Džo Frejzer and 49 + 24 + 5 Poems (expanded edition, 2024).
For the novel Comо he received the KulturKontakt Austria Award, the Stevan Sremac Award, the Gorki List Award, and the Prix des lecteurs du Var – Toulon.
His works have been translated into English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Swedish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Albanian, Macedonian, Slovenian, and Chinese. He is a member of the Serbian Literary Society.
