Working Meeting in Podgorica

Podgorica, Montenegro, 24 April 2025 – The Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Montenegro hosted a working meeting between Minister Tamara Vujović, Vice-Chair of the Board of the Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSC), FSK Director Dr. Andreja Rihter, and Pavel Douša, ŽIVA Prize judge from the Czech Republic.
The meeting was also attended by Ms. Dobrila Vlahović, Director General of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, and Ms. Jelena Jovanović-Nikolić, Director General for Cultural and Artistic Creativity.

The main topics of discussion included Montenegro’s activities within the FSK programmes for 2025 and 2026, with particular emphasis on the continuation of the Hundred Slavic Novels project and the publication of translations of Slavic literary works in Montenegro.

Montenegro will soon expand its list for the Hundred Slavic Novels project by adding new authors, reaching a total of 20. It was also noted with great satisfaction that Montenegro has three candidates for the prestigious ŽIVA Prize in 2025, a testament to the outstanding efforts of their judge, Dobrila Vlahović.

The year 2026 will be especially significant for Montenegro, as it will host the meeting of the FSK Editorial Board, with special attention dedicated to the promotion of Slavic literature and its translations into Montenegrin.
