The third Festival of Slavic Literatures will take place from 10 to 12 December at Villa Zlatica. The focus of this year’s festival is on drama, contemporary dramatic writings, their performance and reception, and the relationship between fiction and play.

In the year of the 20th anniversary of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, the 100th book in the 100 Slavic Novels collection, Berta Bojetu’s novel Filio is not at Home, translated into Serbian by Ana Ristović, was also published. The book and the significance of the 100 Slavic Novels collection were discussed at two pre-festival events during the Slovenian Book Days in Maribor and Ljubljana with Serbian publisher Gojko Božović, translator and professor of Slavic studies Dr Namita Subiotto, historian and translator Dr Klemen Jelinčič Boeta , publicist Zora A. Jurič, literary theorist and translator Dr. Varja Balžalorsky Antić and project coordinator Matej Jančar.
Both events reinforced the importance of the collection in spreading awareness of the rich Slavic literature and its role in intercultural dialogue
