In the framework of the European Union-funded project Ljubka’s Trail, a cross-border literary trail of poetry and equality, the partners Forum of Slavic Cultures and the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre organised a training for tourist guides, which met four times in November.
The training was attended by licensed tourist guides from Slovenia and Italy, joined by tourism students from the technical schools of the Cankar-Zois-Vega Institute and their teachers. During the four full-day modules in November, the participants were introduced to the project and the project partners, listened to a lecture by Saso Quinzi on the art-historical features of Gorizia and its surroundings, got to know the points along the route and visited many of them, and learned in theory and practice about the laws and peculiarities of the job of a tourist guide. A special module was dedicated to communication skills. The training was led by licensed guide and international trainer Mateja Kregar Gliha, and the individual segments were prepared by Andreja Rihter, Director of the FSK, Franka Žgavec, President of the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre, art historian Saša Quinzi and Mateja Jančar, Project Manager at the FSK. The training will continue at the beginning of next year – first with lectures and presentations by Ljubka Šorli and the women writers of the Goriška region, and the history of Goriška, and then with practical exercises of guiding along Ljubka’s path.
The project is funded by the European Union through the Small Project Fund GO! 2025 of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme, managed by the EGTC GO.
