On November 26, 2025, the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Center in Gorizia hosted the closing concert of the Ljubkina pot project, entitled Ljubkina pot – Song of the Landscape and Memory, featuring more than 80 young singers from Slovenia and Italy.
The concert featured youth choirs accompanied by live instrumental music. The stage featured a combined youth choir consisting of the Dušan Munih Primary School Choir from Most na Soči, the France Bevk Primary School Choir from Tolmin, and the Emil Komel Choir from Gorizia, led by choir mistresses Erika Bizjak, Barbara Kovačič, and Mateja Černic, who also conducted the concert.
The programme included poems by Ljubka Šorli, selected for the occasion by David Bandelj and set to music by composer Patrick Quaggiato. The singers were accompanied by a seven-piece orchestra of professional musicians.
The final concert was not just a musical event, but also a festive occasion marking the end of the project and an opportunity to look back on the work that had been done and the effort that had been put in. All the stops along the way were presented, and visitors received a map of the route with a description of all the points along the way.
The gathering was opened by Franka Žgavec, president of the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Center, and Mateja Jančar, representative of the FSK, who spoke about the activities and achievements of the project. The Ljubka’s Trail project recently received an award for inspiring practices at the Annual Advisory Forum of the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. The speakers also sincerely thanked everyone who participated in the project.
The event resonated as an invitation to Ljubka’s Trail – an invitation to explore and learn, to reflect, show respect, and understanding.
The project is financed by the European Union from the GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme, managed by EZTS GO.
