Dear lovers of culture, literature, and unique experiences, step onto Ljubka’s Trail – a unique cross-border cultural-tourist and iterary trail that you can explore on foot or by bike. On this literary excursion through the Goriška region, nature, culture, and the rich literary heritage of the area intertwine in a picturesque landscape.
Inspired by the life and work of the poet Ljubka Šorli (1910–1993), the trail also celebrates other remarkable female writers who shaped the cultural identity of the region. Along the way, their words reveal the voices of women, their role in society, and the places that fueled their creativity—on both sides of the Slovenian–Italian border.
Ljubka’s Trail connects Tolmin, the birthplace of Ljubka Šorli, with Gorizia and Nova Gorica, offering a diverse and inspiring cross-border experience.
Open year-round and designed for independent exploration, it is perfect for hikers, cyclists, literature lovers, and curious travelers alike. The route is well marked, and multilingual maps are available in Slovenian, English, and Italian.
It is accessible all year round and suitable for independent exploration, hiking, and cycling. The trail is marked with signs, and maps are available in Slovenian, English, and Italian.
We invite you to experience Goriška through words, stories, and landscapes and to walk the Ljubka Trail.
