Ljubka’s Trail Invites You to Brda

We cordially invite you to the ceremonial unveiling of a plaque dedicated to Alma M. Karlin,

which will take place on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

at the former post office building in Kojsko (Kojsko, No. 65).

The Ljubka Trail is a cultural and tourist trail dedicated to Ljubka Šorli and the women of the Goriška region. It also passes through Kojsko, where the world-traveling writer and philosopher Alma M. Karlin frequently visited her aunt Ernestina, the head of the local post office.

Her visits to the Goriška Brda region left a deep impression on her, which she also preserved in her writings. The new cultural and tourist sign will introduce visitors to Alma M. Karlin’s lesser-known yet precious connection to the Brda region and enrich the experience of the Ljubka Trail as a cross-border literary trail of poetry and equality.

The Vinika Women’s Choir will enhance the ceremony with song.

May this event serve as a tribute to an exceptional artist, traveler, and explorer of the world, and to her special connection to the Goriška Brda region.

The project is part of a European narrative of unity and cultural dialogue and was created in collaboration with the Forum of Slavic Cultures and the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Center.

The project is financed by the European Union from the GO! 2025 Small Projects Fund of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Slovenia 2021-2027 programme, managed by EZTS GO.
