Reminder: Applications for Živa 2025 Are Still Open – Conference and Award Ceremony in Preparation

Applications for the Živa Award 2025 conference and ceremony are now open! Preparations for this year’s, already the eleventh edition of the award, taking place under the theme Echoes of Heritage and the Future of Museums, are in full swing. The event will be hosted by the historic city of Trebinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina from October 8 to 12, 2025.

For over a decade, the Živa Award has recognized outstanding achievements in the preservation and promotion of Slavic cultural heritage and has connected museums and heritage institutions from the Slavic region and beyond. It also provides a platform for professional exchange, showcasing innovations, and reflecting on the development of contemporary museology. We invite everyone who wishes to contribute to the development and networking of Slavic cultural heritage to apply for the open call. Your participation is vital for strengthening cooperation between museums and heritage institutions and for sharing knowledge and experiences among professionals from various countries.

The programme will include presentations by nominated museums, expert lectures, thematic discussions, cultural visits, a museum ideas marketplace, the award ceremony, and a gala dinner. Part of the programme is also a full-day guided excursion.

The registration fee covers participation in all official events, printed materials, meals and refreshments, evening receptions, thematic dinners, the excursion, and organized transfers to and from Dubrovnik airport.

Early bird registration is available until August 30, 2025, and the final deadline for applications is September 30, 2025.
