Ilja Stogoff (1970) has worked in a wide variety of jobs, including sales assistant for sports bicycles, television presenter, street currency exchanger, teacher, cinema cleaner in Berlin, editor-in-chief of an erotic magazine, security guard, translator, music critic, bartender, and casino press officer. He holds a master’s degree in theology.
In 1999 he was named Journalist of the Year. For his novel The Moustached Men Don’t Cry, he was named Writer of the Year, and the novel itself was selected as Novel of the Year. Stogoff’s books have been translated into ten languages, with a total print run in Russia of 1.4 million copies.
