PIRANOVA 2026 – Museum Lab No. 1: Interpretation through Words and Technology

The 17th International Summer School of Museology will take place in Koper, 25–27 May 2026.

This year’s edition focuses on the interpretation of cultural heritage through words and technology, addressing both narrative and digital approaches to museum interpretation.

The programme will include lectures, discussions, hands-on workshops, and a professional study excursion to Trieste. It will be structured around two main panels:

Panel 1: Museums in the Digital Age – Interpreting Heritage through Technology, focusing on contemporary digital tools, media, and innovative technological approaches in museums.

Panel 2: Exhibiting through Words – Interpreting Heritage through Language, exploring interpretation through text, storytelling, and the presentation of literary and cultural heritage.

The summer school is intended for museum professionals, curators, conservators, students of museology, and all those interested in museum practice and cultural heritage. The programme will be conducted in English.

Applications are open until 15 May 2026 (or until all places are filled). Discounts are available for students and members of the Forum of Slavic Cultures. The Early Bird discount (–20 %) is valid until 10 April 2026. The detailed programme will be published soon.
