At the occasion of the St. Petersburg International Book Salon the Forum of Slavic Cultures opened the 100 Slavic Novels Exhibition while Slovenian writer Suzana Tratnik took care that Slovenian word could not only be seen but also heard at the city’s main avenue, Nevsky Prospekt.
Between February and the end of April thirteen judges for the Živa Award visited all 25 museums, contestants for the Živa Award 2018.
Within the activities of Piranova – International Heritage Research Centre in Piran in cooperation with international partners a one day seminar Museums in Short – All-in-One was organized.
During her working visit to the Slovak capital, Director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures Andreja Rihter, PhD, had a meeting with Ivan Sečik, State Secretary at the Slovak Ministry of Culture. Sečik expressed his support to the Forum of Slavic Cultures and promised more active involvement of Slovak institutions and individuals in the projects of this international foundation.
A round-table of writers from Slavic countries with Jennifer Clement, President of PEN International, took place at the 50th International writers’ meeting in Bled organized by Slovenian PEN Centre. In addition, Slavic writers gathered at the literary evening, moderated by Dubravka Đurić Nemec from Croatia.
The first Slovenian-Russian Cultural Forum, one of the most important events within cultural seasons 2017-2018, came to a close with a strategic session where the Slovenian and Russian sides adopted common conclusions. They are related to the common goal of enhancing the cooperation of Slovenian and Russian cultural institutions.
FSC Director Andreja Rihter paid a working visit to Stefano Dominioni, Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes in Luxemburg.
On the day marking the 186th anniversary of the National Library of Serbia the Serbian Minister of Culture and Information Vladan Vukosavljević opened the Centre of Slavic Cultures Belgrade, the second of its kind run by the Forum of Slavic Cultures.
More museums than ever before are running for this year’s Živa Award for the best Slavic museum – as many as 25 from 12 Slavic countries. The Forum of Slavic Cultures will confer the 5th Živa Award, this year for the first time with prize money, between 12 and 16 September in Prague, in cooperation with the National Technical Museum.
The Forum of Slavic Cultures is a Ljubljana-based international foundation that connects people and institutions in thirteen Slavic countries through different projects.
