In the spirit of long-standing cooperation between the Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) and North Macedonia, FSK Director Andreja Rihter met with the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of North Macedonia, Zoran Ljutkov, in Skopje on 16 October. The meeting took place in an open and collaborative atmosphere, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening cultural dialogue within the Slavic world.
The interlocutors highlighted the importance of the Živa Award, through which the NI Institute for Protection of Monuments of Culture and Museum – Ohrid received recognition as the Best Slavic Heritage Site of 2025. Director Rihter also informed the Minister about the FSK’s plans for 2026, when the Forum will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 100 Slavic Novels project and two decades of joint projects with North Macedonia. Their cooperation began in 2006 in Ohrid, where the first joint events were held, while the Živa Award was launched in 2014 in Skopje with the first conference and award ceremony.
Minister Ljutkov expressed his support for continued collaboration and announced greater involvement of Macedonian cultural institutions in FSK projects.
