On Tuesday, 22 September 2026, at 7 p.m., we are delighted to welcome renowned Serbian writer, translator, editor and publicist Vladimir Arsenijević to Vila Zlatica. In conversation with Dijana Matković, he will present his novel Ghosts (Duhovi), recently published by Beletrina Publishing House in a Slovenian translation by Mateja Komel Snoj.

Ghosts is the fourth and final novel in Arsenijević’s Cloaca Maxima tetralogy. Following his mother’s death, the sixty-year-old narrator revisits memories of people who have shaped his life and, through their stories, reflects on war, nationalism, political repression, collective memory and identity. Personal stories intertwine with the broader social and historical experience of the post-Yugoslav space, offering a powerful reflection on a past that continues to shape the present.

We warmly invite you to join us for an evening of literature and conversation.
