International Conference on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe

As part of the Interreg project Ljubka’s Trail, implemented by the Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSk) in cooperation with the Lojze Bratuž Cultural Centre in Gorizia, an international conference on the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe will take place from 14 to 16 April in Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Tolmin under the title:

Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: Identifying and Preserving Cultural Heritage in Border Areas.

The conference will bring together representatives from the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe across nine countries, experts from various fields, and representatives of local communities. The discussions will focus on cross-border cooperation, the role of cultural routes, and the development of cultural and tourism initiatives that connect communities.

This event will also serve as a platform to strengthen collaboration between two major European programmes – the European Capital of Culture (ECOC) and the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. Participants will have the opportunity to explore the Ljubka Route, a new cross-border literary route dedicated to women’s poetry and equality. Part of the Italy-Slovenia Interreg project, the route expands the Women Writers’ Route, celebrating the literary and cultural contributions of women in this diverse and multicultural region. Ljubka’s Route is also included in the official programme of ECOC GO! 2025.

The working language of the conference will be English.
