On 6 November 2025, an international professional colloquium on Interactive Exhibitions and Digital Curation of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Museums will take place in Ljubljana, organized by the Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) and the The Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe under the auspices of UNESCO in Sofia.
FSK and the Regional Centre – UNESCO began their collaboration in 2024 with the organization of the ŽIVA 2024 Award ceremony at the Regional Ethnographic Open-Air Museum Etar in Gabrovo. This year’s colloquium provides an opportunity for museum professionals, digital curators, and experts in intangible cultural heritage to exchange knowledge and examples of best practices in the field of intangible heritage and digital innovation. The programme will highlight interactive exhibitions, digital storytelling, and the use of artificial intelligence, augmented, and virtual reality in museum practice.
Speakers will present examples of best practices from eight countries: Croatia, Greece, Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia. The opening addresses will be delivered by Andreja Rihter, Director of FSK; Irena Todorova, Director of the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in South-Eastern Europe; and Tanja Roženbergar, Chair of the General Assembly of the Regional Centre – UNESCO.
The event aims to promote the exchange of experiences and best practices among cultural institutions from the Slavic and South-Eastern European region, as well as to explore how museums connect tradition and innovation in the digital age.
