Piranova se temelji na jasnoj viziji te razvija, priprema i provodi sveobuhvatan program obrazovanja, stručnog usavršavanja i osposobljavanja za različite ciljne skupine koje djeluju u području materijalne i nematerijalne kulturne baštine i umjetnosti, pritom potičući razvoj opće svijesti o kulturnoj baštini. Program uključuje predavanja stručnjaka, analize, rasprave, dijaloge i radionice, pružajući sudionicima priliku za aktivan i kreativan rad uz praktičnu primjenu stečenog znanja. Na taj način Piranova postaje važno središte za prijenos znanja i vještina u području obrazovanja i osposobljavanja unutar slavenskog kulturnog prostora.
Program se provodi kroz dvije programske jedinice: Simpozij Piranova i Međunarodna ljetna škola muzeologije.
