The European Museum Academy (EMA) and the International Foundation Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) are pleased to announce the opening of submissions for Heritage in Motion (HIM) 2025. This distinguished international award recognizes outstanding achievements in the innovative use of multimedia and digital technologies to interpret, preserve, and promote cultural heritage.
Cultural institutions, filmmakers, digital content creators, and technology developers worldwide are invited to submit their projects. The competition features several award categories:
- New Digital Experiences – Interactive and immersive projects, including multimedia installations, virtual exhibitions, and digital storytelling initiatives.
- Virtual and Augmented Reality – Advanced VR and AR applications offering novel ways to engage with heritage sites and collections.
- Heritage Audiovisuals – Films, documentaries, and animations that effectively convey cultural heritage through compelling visual narratives.
- Heritage Schools – A category dedicated to student projects (ages 15-25) from media academies, graduate schools, and university programs.

The Heritage in Motion 2025 Award Ceremony will be held on September 26, 2025, at the Money Museum in Budapest. Participants are encouraged to attend at their own expense. In addition, a workshop on emerging technologies in heritage preservation, featuring contributions from the 2024 award winners, will take place on September 27, 2025.
