Forum of Slavic Cultures at the Prague Book Fair

The Forum of Slavic Cultures was once again represented this year at the international book fair Book World in Prague (Svět knihy Praha) as part of the CEEBM (Central and East European Book Market) programme, where it participated for the second consecutive year alongside representatives of the Central and East European book scene.

At the presentation, Andreja Rihter and Mateja Jančar introduced two key international projects of the FSK—the collection of 100 Slavic Novels and the cultural-tourism route, Women Writers Route.

The collection 100 Slavic Novels, which has been connecting Slavic literatures, publishers, translators, and readers for two decades, sparked particular interest among visitors and the professional community. Attendees expressed interest in further translations of works from the collection and in opportunities for collaboration on future editions. They were impressed by the extensive network of translators, editors, and literary experts that has formed and solidified over the collection’s twenty-year history and today represents one of the most significant intercultural literary projects in the region.

Another project that drew attention was the Women Writers Route, which uses the literary heritage of significant female authors to connect various locations and the literary and life stories of women who have left a significant mark on the European cultural landscape.

Participation in the Prague Book Fair 2026 confirmed the strong interest of the international professional community in FSK projects and the importance of long-term collaboration among Slavic cultures, literatures, and creators.
