Extended Deadline for Applications

We are pleased to announce that the application deadline for the Živa 2025 Awards has been extended to 31 March 2025.

For a decade, the Živa Awards have brought together museums, as well as natural and cultural heritage sites, from 13 Slavic countries. This year, the awards introduce two important innovations. For the first time, alongside the Živa Award for the Best Slavic Museum and the Živa Award for the Best Natural and Cultural Monument, we are introducing the Živa Award for Excellence in the Preservation of Slavic Heritage Worldwide. This new category recognizes efforts to preserve and promote Slavic cultural identity in diaspora communities and cross-border regions around the world. We welcome applications from museums, cultural heritage sites, and Slavic cultural communities abroad that contribute to enriching and promoting Slavic heritage.

Additionally, this year marks the return of the cash prize: the winner of the Best Slavic Museum category will receive €5,000.

The Živa 2025 awards ceremony will take place in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 8 to 12 October 2025. Trebinje, a city rich in history and architectural heritage, will host the awards ceremony alongside an expert conference. We eagerly anticipate this inspiring gathering!

Applications are free of charge and must be submitted online.

Don’t miss this opportunity to participate and celebrate the richness of Slavic cultural heritage!
