The Forum of Slavic Cultures (FSK) held its traditional New Year’s meeting with partners at the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Ljubljana. Guests were welcomed by FSK Director Dr. Andreja Rihter and the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria, Krassimir Bojanov.
In her opening address, Dr. Rihter presented the Forum’s key projects for the promotion of Slavic cultures and heritage. She also drew attention to the Živa Award in the field of museology and the strengthened cooperation with the UNESCO Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Southeast Europe.
Ambassador Bojanov highlighted Bulgaria’s successful cooperation with the FSK and the country’s active involvement in numerous projects. He expressed his confidence that this cooperation would continue to develop successfully and wished all present a year rich in cultural events.
The event was enlivened by a musical performance by violinist Tamara Bakardjieva, a member of the SNG Maribor Orchestra, who performed works by Bulgarian composers. Guests also enjoyed traditional Slovenian potica.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors and diplomatic representatives of Slavic countries, heads of cultural, educational, and scientific institutions, representatives of Slovenian publishing houses, artists, and FSK partners. The reception provided a pleasant opportunity for socialising, exchanging ideas, and strengthening cooperation, which will continue to be developed throughout 2026.
